Atomic Fiction starts with the values you expect from a creative partner!
Atomic Fiction is an innovative, efficient and artistic group committed to bringing your digital characters and effects to life for today’s biggest blockbuster films, cinematics and commercials. We combine talent and technology in a way that is different from anyone else out there, having embraced cloud computing, cross-discipline collaboration and a generalist approach.
The studio recently completed hundreds of visual effects shots for Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming feature film, Flight as well as 80 shots to realize the futuristic environments of Rian Johnson’s Autumn release, Looper.
Other projects include Underworld: Awakening and VES award-winning character work on 50+ shots for HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
We are lean and agile, but the work we do is big, bold and more inventive. And so is the way we do it. We are among the first studios to tap into the cloud. It gives us instant access to big-company infrastructure at a fraction of the cost and, just like your electricity bill, we don’t pay a penny for all of that computer power when we’re not using it. That means our clients don’t either. It’s a true game changer — one that is letting us do better work at a fraction of the traditional cost.
We have fun working on our shows, and make sure that our clients do too. Our team believes that unnecessary barriers are the enemy of innovation, efficiency and collaboration. We work together from concept to compositing, regardless of our discipline, and exchange ideas while inventing new ways of working. We even go to lunch together. No ego. No drama. Just great work!
We are generalists at heart, keeping our fingers in all parts of the process, so we know what it takes to be efficient. The character animation tools we’ve developed, for example, splice the lessons learned while developing for both games and feature films. The result: Atomic Fiction’s character pipeline ensures consistency for supervisors and control for animators, all while being an order of magnitude more efficient than anything the industry has seen before. Faster iterations means better art, and that puts a smile on our face!
We love tapping into raw talent and cultivating the next generation of Atomic Fiction superstars. Our team gets a thrill out of giving back to the education community too. We actively speak to promote school-to-career programs, advice on entering the workforce and the use of technology in the classroom. Atomic Fiction has partnered with organizations such as Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, The University of Ulster and Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People (to name a few).
